Do you even watch movies in English? I do. Sometimes. They are so different. Yesterday I saw "The Pirates of Caribbean: At World's End" and today - "Shrek The Third". To confess, in the first one I understood hardly a half of what was said. It's pretty tough movie from language perspective. The second one is much more understandable. I wonder why is it so? And if the russian movies are also different in perception?

i like to watch movies without the translation first and with the translation - after.....the diffrence is auffal)))))
it seems to me that nobody knows english and it"s so ridiculos)))))
and of course in the first one I understood hardly a half of what was said - just a main / not the details
It would be ridiculous if it wouldn't be so sad. Unfortunately, movies lose much in translation. Despite the fact, that I didn't understand some passages, I'm pretty sure that russian translation mangles a lot in the meaning, so I think I wouldn't get better sense if I'd see it in russian. Nevertheless, I'm going to see it just for comparison. If it will be such a free possibility. :)
I haven't watched "Shrek theThird", but I must admit that the original versions of two first parts are really better than the translations.
In fact, it depends on translation... I watched the fist part twice: in the cinema and at home. There were two different translations and the first was better.

Hi folks,
I have some video tapes in English, too. Though, watch them not pretty often. Some are captioned. Time is a problem. Last one i saw was Apollo 13
